Case 04
Developer Deployment Platform
A small PaaS: repository in, public URL out

Overview
A lightweight deployment platform where a developer connects a GitHub repository and the system builds, deploys, and exposes the application on a generated public URL.
Problem
Shipping a small application still demands manual work across servers, Docker, reverse proxies, domains, environment variables, and release process.

Logs + status
A deployment control plane receives repository events, creates jobs, builds images, launches containers, configures routing, and surfaces status and logs. Redis runs background work. PostgreSQL stores projects, deployments, and configuration.
Engineering
The control plane has to isolate deployments, survive failed builds, and make rollback and logs first-class — not afterthoughts.
Challenges
- Automated builds and container lifecycle
- Deployment isolation
- Background job processing
- Reverse-proxy routing and environment configuration
- Failure handling, logs, and rollback
